2014 Gold Star Mothers Dinner
On Dec. 23rd 2014, the 2nd annual Mary Burgen Gold Star Mother dinner was held at the beautiful Mexico VFW dining hall. This was a night to remember the life of Green Beret Sgt. Errold Farrar who was killed in action in Vietnam 45 years ago on this date.
It was also to honor the never ending sacrifice of his family.
It was an honor to have LTC Steven Howe who is an active duty Green Beret speak on the duties and brotherhood of the Army Special Forces soldiers down through the years.
Col. Howe was a very impressive and effective speaker and it was as if he was speaking directly to Mary and her family. I would like to thank all who came and would like to invite all who view this to next year's dinner.
